More selected footage from an hour's hare watching on 18th March 2009. Sun was now well up and both hares had worked their way up the hill toward the house.
I was filming in the shade and there was no sun hitting me. However, at the end, it becomes very apparent that at least the younger one was aware of me. But perhaps also the grey one was too (you can see a quick glance in my direction after I stepped forward into the sun's light coming through the window (about 2:10).
The two moods mentioned in Part 2 are a bit more apparent now too. The younger enjoys a good stretch and soon thereafter obviously bothers it's companion. This was the first (but not the last) time the grey one did this - and not just to it's companion hare either. It would seem to be some sort of "back off" posture.
Those aware of lighting might be wondering about the very bright look in this sequence. Honestly, I never touched the 'brighten' button during editing! It was just as they grazed their way uphill toward the house, the hares were coming ever closer to the white walls of the house - which were reflecting the stengthening rising sun as it simultaneously back-lit them. If you watch in high quality, and full screen, you can see the white walls reflecting in eye of the younger hare (about 1:22)
If you're not into lighting, but instead just enjoy the cuteness of these creatures, well just wait until you see what shows up in Part 4!
By the way, the house from which I took this footage is for sale. You can check it out through the link below. If you want to contact the owner, please use the link on that page. Ringing me at that number is pointless because I'll be telling you to email him.
