Thirteen year old Ashley Humpries performs Miley Cyrus's "THE CLIMB" at Showchoir Camps of America held at Millikin University in Decatur, IL.

Ashley started off perfectly when her background track began to skip. She handled it like a pro! Not only did she start smiling and not give up, but the crowd of 800 campers, counselors, and clinicians started to cheer her on. She then decided to sing acapella... but after starting that, her music track decided to start over again. Once again... she handled it like a pro. She then started a third time to sing acapella. After about thiry seconds in... to the amazement and surprise of the audience, the grand piano was rolled out and Mr. Jonathan Shew started accompanying her on the spot, and with NO practice.

The behind the scenes story is pretty incredible as well... Backstage when Ashley's track began to skip was tech crew and campers who were waiting to sing in the show. The campers immediately started cheering her on (just like the audience). When she started to sing acapella for the first time, Jonathan Shew ran from the audience, backstage and said "I CAN FIGURE THIS OUT!". He then ran to the piano and started plunking out chords quietly to figure out what key she was in. After a few seconds, he said, "Roll me out!". Before the Millikin tech crew could even do anything, the campers who were waiting to perform in the show ran to the piano and started pushing it out which resulted in one unforgettable and AMAZING performance! The lyrics to the song couldn't have been more appropriate to the story that unfolded on the stage!

To add the cherry to the sundae, this was Ashley's first performance in front of a huge crowd! CONGRATS girl... the worst is over, the world is your stage now!
