Stretchy fabrics, like stormy seas or the knit cotton t-shirt in this video, can be tricky to embroider. In sails the magical material known as iron-on, tear-away stabilizer! Embroidery captain Jenny Hart of Sublime stitching steers us through this clever tutorial and drops anchor on a very cute project.

Helpful Notes! When working with light colored fabrics, you can also opt to transfer your embroidery pattern directly onto the surface of the fabric and iron the stabilizer onto the back of the fabric. It's a matter of personal preference. Also great to know - the technique Jenny demonstrates in this video is a genius way to embroider on dark fabrics that make transfer patterns hard to see.
