What is it like to be a singer who can't breathe? That is what every day of Chloe Temtchine's life is like after she was diagnosed with severe pulmonary hypertension at age 30. Now not a day goes by that she is not attached to a portable oxygen machine.
Temtchine says her career came to a screeching halt in 2013 when she was rushed to the emergency room unable to breathe. Doctors diagnosed her with the rare disease, the life expectancy of whose sufferers is only 2.5 yeras without treatment.
Three years after her diagnosis Temtchine has transformed her condition and she is using her songwriting as a tool not only to heal herself but to help others. "I was being told I had no future," Temtchine said. The way she saw it, she could either believe that or "create a future" for herself.
Temtchine's new song "Breathe" was just released on YouTube. For more info visit PHAssociation.org
