Yes, this piece is originally made for the violin, but the transcription was marvelous and wonderfully played!

Although I think the middle section sounds even better on the cello than the violin!!!

I'm trying this master piece by violin,it's difficult for me ,Cello even more difficult I think.

The only way I could tell the Cellist's movements were real was because the pianist was moving at a normal speed... this guy is amazing! 
Dear Valentin I can't tell you how impressed I was! I knew the transcription from a Schiff recording but always assumed there was some studio trickery involved to gain that level of clarity, but after seeing your clip I see it is truly possible to pull this piece off in concert. I'm a cellist based in Scotland and would very much like to learn the piece, but I cannot seem to find the sheet music for the transcription. Could you be so kind as to point me in the right direction. Yours truly, C
