Last September, Sallie Mae launched the "Bridging The Dream" scholarship where guidance counselors across the country were asked to nominate junior and senior high school students who were hard working, had an interesting story to tell, and had a skill they felt was special. Kendal, from Camden, MI, was selected as one of the four finalists.
Kendal is not only an honor student but also a standout athlete and track star. When life takes her on an emotional and financial rollercoaster, she’s more determined than ever to keep moving ahead to get to college.
Kendal’s committed to entering the medical field to make a difference in people’s lives. So she’s carefully making — and following — a plan to achieve her college dreams, no matter what life throws at her. Believing that “big things can happen in your life,” she hopes that winning the “Bridging the Dream” Scholarship will help her toward the future she wants.
