Elaine Paige's 50th anniversary album 'The Ultimate Collection' out 12 May 2014: http://smarturl.it/elainepaigenewalbum

First lady of Musical Theatre, Elaine Paige recreates her role as Eva Peron, spiritual leader of Argentina.

Elaine first portrayed Evita in Andrew Lloyd-Webber and Tim Rice's musical 'EVITA' in 1979 at the Prince Edward Theatre. Here, she recreates her role 6 years later for a special TV programme (and later video) 'Lyrics' celebrating the work of Tim Rice.

This is as close to a video of Elaine actually performing the role as I know available -except for the few clips of Rainbow High and High Flying Adored from the Olivier Awards of 1979/80. (The clips appear in the South Bank Special 'Faces of Elaine Paige.) Here though, she is in original costume and performing on the original set.
