Scott sings "Parsley," written by Scott Burkell and Paul Loesel, at the Kennedy Center on February 4th, 2009 as part of its "Broadway: the Third Generation" series. Allison Seidner is on cello; Paul Loesel on piano and backup vocals.

Notice the "shaker" at the very start of the video and again at 0:56. The original plan was for Scott to "shake" it throughout most of the performance - but he discovered he couldn't remember the lyrics and "shake" simultaneously.

Scott says that "Parsley" was inspired by that horrible moment when one realizes that one likes their date much more than their date likes them. It comes, like many a Burkell/Loesel tune, from the file marked "low self esteem".

This video is posted in cooperation with and permission from the songwriters. To learn more about the writing team of Burkell and Loesel, visit their Facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/home.php#/pag...
