English Paper Piecing has been a favorite method for sewing hexagons for a long time. This video shows how to hand sew hexagons with a simple running stitch. The preparation is easier and faster and you get better results when you sew with a running stitch because the stitches do not show in the seam.
If you have started a quilt with whip-stitching (English Paper Piecing) and are stalled, it is not too late to switch! See English Paper Piecing Rescue in the Top Ten Tutes on the All About Inklingo blog. http://www.lindafranz.com/blog/top-te...
There are several articles about sewing hexagons for Grandmother's Flower Garden and other designs on the All About Inklingo blog. http://www.lindafranz.com/blog/ See "hexagons" in the Categories (right sidebar) or search the blog archives (box above the header).
