In 1965 KNUZ, a radio station in Houston, Texas, sent their discjockey, Buddy McGregor, to England to interview the Beatles at the height of their popularity. Against all odds Buddy managed to make his way onto the estate of Lord and Lady Astor where the filming of the Beatles feature, "HELP" was underway. Despite the Beatles not accepting interviews at that time Buddy was mistaken as a personal friend of Paul's from America and he was welcomed onto the grounds and was able to witness the filming of a few scenes, and was granted a brief sit down with the group. The quartet giggled through much of this casual conversation which is full of cleaver quips and puns that they were known for. The meeting was casual but the result is an interesting bit of Beatle history.

This interview helped earn Buddy the Radio Mirror's "DJ of the Year" award for 1965. See the link below to check out Buddy McGregor's website.
