Roughly 3,000 people gathered in Rio de Janeiro Thursday evening to protest against the upcoming World Cup. Protesters marched along Avenida Presidente Vargas to City Hall, with some people burning Brazilian flags and throwing traffic safety cones.
A line of police in riot armour blocked the entrance to City Hall. The 2014 World Cup kicks off in Brazil June 12.
