Quick video of my X450 Pro with its new light kit installed and my revised camera mount.
All the landing gear are painted to match the nav. lights which are hot-glued onto the arms and aimed to hit the gear. Reminds me of Italy for some reason.
Camera mount is now painted black and I made a hold-down for it. If it looks tilted, it is. This tilt produces somewhat level video.
[The mounting plate is made from the same dead CDROM that I took the vibration dampening rubber grommets from. The hold-down bar used to be a PCI slot cover before I introduced it to pliers, bench grinder and enamel paint. The screws and "thumb nuts" are from the CDROM plastic case.]
Heading ball is now painted and in the back so it doesn't obstruct the video.
Light kit has 8 LEDs: red / green for the front arms, flashing white for the rear. Two headlights, and two slow-flashing red strobes. The latter two are mounted using a Bic type pen tube, the rest are hot glued in place.
The little LED numbers indicate the battery voltage. Those two black things above the number display are loud buzzers. When any of the three power cells in the battery pack falls below 3.3V, they scream and I land.
