"I call it, Feeling my way towards infinity, a kind of meditative search for the liminal edge, where we seek that fine line between what we are and what we will become."

The Patron Saint of Knives considers the process of Knife Sharpening a kind of meditation that focuses the mind.

I get most of my abrasive belts at Supergrit.com. Econabrasives.com has leather belts and leather clad wheels and I buy most of my polishing compounds from knifemaking.com. I use these folks because they have what I need and the prices seem reasonable. I have no other connection to them. I also order trizact belts directly from China wholesale because the cost is about 1/3 of the American price, although they can be purchased in smaller quantities from Supergrit. I use a variety of belt sanders including a Delta, a Viel, and various generic Harbor Frieght models. They each have their attractions. The HB is dirt cheap and useful, the Viel is a total work hose and easily used either vertically or horizontally, and the Delta, I got at a yard sale for a song and is strong and reliable.
