Ahhh, the pure enjoyment of a semi-automatic airgun. In this video I attempt to shoot pigeons out of the sky. When you view the video, it seems like it shouldn't be too difficult to pluck them out of mid air, but this is not Nintendo Duck Hunt. The birds are moving very fast, requiring a substantial lead with the shot. They also change direction rapidly. And no matter how "thick" a flock of pigeons looks, there is MUCH more open space than "pigeon space".

I realize that many may attempt to use this video to demonize me - calling me a hypocrite for not adhering to the "one shot, one kill" philosophy. I knew that making might haunt me a bit. But, with a semi-auto, I could unload on any animals not killed immediately. This is something I can not do with my single shot. And this is also something that every bird hunter on earth must deal with. I've shot countless ducks and pheasants with a perfectly-placed shotgun blast - yet it still required a 2nd shot to finish them off. It's just the way it is. Anyone who says otherwise is blowing smoke.

Had I winged a bird, it would not have suffered long at all considering the rapid-fire accuracy of this gun. And I made certain to not fire on any that were flying over the corn field, so as not to lose them.

I'm always torn between making long explanations [like this one] of my actions, or just getting to the footage. If I preach too long - folks get bored. If I don't mention anything, others assume the worst and label me a demon or hypocrite.

I try to explain my actions - but, make no apologies.

So, enough of that.....
