Twinkle Twinkle Little Star is an incredibly popular children's nursery rhyme about the wonder and love of a beautiful little star twinkling in the night sky. The song is commonly sung to sooth a baby to sleep as a lullaby.
The writer of "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" was English poet Jane Taylor. The poem was first published in 1866 in "Rhymes for the Nursery" a collection of poems by Jane Taylor and her older sister Ann. The melody of this poem has been taken from the symphony "Number 4 in G Minor, K. 55" by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart who composed it in 1788 at the age of 32 years.
