The Bedford Cottages are a distinctive feature of Tavistock. The neat rows of model workers cottages were built by the Dukes of Bedford, and financed through the royalties they obtained from the local mining. The 300 Cottages are a wonderful reminder of the impact of mining on the area. For more information on how Cornish Mining shaped your world visit www.cornishmining.org.uk
