Kosovo War Refugees receive medical treatment: During the 1999 armed conflict between ethnic Albanians and Serbian forces it is estimated that more than 860,000 Kosovans, mostly women with children, fled their homes to find safety across the border in Albania.

Though many Kosovo refugees fled to tent cities, this video documents the intense conditions of the first stopping point for many refugees across the border in the sports coliseum of Shkoder Albania where many of them suffered from wounds, sickness, frostbite, and disease.

Doctors from Medical Teams International were there to administer medical care to the sick and injured. To help tell the story of the refugee crisis from the Kosovo war and the traumatic impact on the children, this documentary contains interviews with Dr. Travis Cavens, Tom Ardavany RN, and psychologist John Fazio.
