It is quite easy to setup an alarm system which detects a specific bluetooth device with a Raspberry Pi (3). The setup consists of a piezo buzzer, a LED and a passive infrared sensor. When the smartphone is not detected, waving a hand in front of the sensor causes the alarm to go off.

This is a demo video for my tutorial at
www.knight-of-pi.org/intrusion-detection-with-a-raspberry-pi-and-a-smartphone-over-bluetooth

There was a small bug which causes to trigger the LED with an delay which is fixed in the tutorial.
