I'm Jager Weatherby from Wetpaint Entertainment, and we know a lot of you are really excited about Sarah Michelle Gellar's return to TV this fall. Her new show Ringer will premiere on September 13th and we've been staying on top of things so you'll know what to expect.

Now let's start with the general plot of the show. In Ringer, Sarah stars as identical twins Bridget and Siobhan. After recovering addict Bridget witnesses a mob hit, she takes on her missing sister's identity. That might sound like plenty of material for an intriguing show right there, but there are even crazier plot twists to come.

After Siobhan seemingly drowns, Bridget — who has both the mafia and FBI on her tail — steps into her sister's shoes. Siobhan's life looks flawless on the outside so it seems like the perfect plan. But Bridget soon finds out that her twin's marriage to rich husband Andrew has fallen apart. Siobhan also has a rebellious stepdaughter and a secret lover. Plenty of drama, right? Well, it also turns out that someone might want Siobhan dead, too. Maybe not the greatest plan, huh Bridge?

The show's going for a real Alfred Hitchcock feel. As the story progresses with present-day drama, we start learning all the dirty secrets in everyone's past. The sisters themselves have been estranged for six years before Bridget makes the switcheroo. We don't know why they parted ways yet, but whatever it was left Bridget feeling uber-guilty. Early in Season One, we'll also see flashbacks to the twins as children.

Ringer's all about secrets, lies, and false personas. Every character on the show has skeletons in their closet and Bridget won't know who to trust. Don't expect all of the mysteries to be solved in the first season, though. They do want us coming back for Season Two.
