This video (produced by the AGCSC glider club in Southern California) is a winch launch demonstration performed at the "Wings over Gillespie" airshow the weekend of 6/4/11-6/5/11. This winch launch demonstration is believed to be the first of its kind at a major US airshow. Winch launching is a unique, thrilling and cost effective way to bring a glider to altitude.
