As the first country to ban the use of antibiotics as growth promoters in livestock, Denmark has been a leader in combating antimicrobial resistance. #ASMCultures traveled to farms and laboratories across Denmark to find out how the country’s robust resistance monitoring program, DANMAP, helps them use “data for action” against the global issue. In this video, we follow the Statens Serum Institute to a farm to test the animals, workers, and workers’ family members for MRSA; we see how antibiotic-free pork is produced; and we hear from Frank Aarestrup and the other leading scientists on the future of resistance monitoring.
