WHO guidelines on the use of antiretroviral drugs for treating and preventing HIV infection

In June 2013, WHO published new guidelines on the use of antiretroviral drugs for treating and preventing HIV infection. The new guidelines promote that more people living with HIV are eligible for antiretroviral treatment and consolidate recommendations from previous clinical, service delivery and programmatic guidelines. At a WHO meeting that was held in Istanbul during 29-31 October 2013, experts from the WHO European Region reflect on the new guidelines and their implications.
