Remember, There is still NO technical reason why Concorde cannot still fly! In 2011 we powered up BA Concorde G-BOAC for the first time since 2003, French Concorde F-BTSD in France is also regularly being powered up, the aircraft also has an operational nose and visor and flying controls and more recently a small team has got the British Prototype G-AXDN powered up again which is based at Duxford, England. We aim to get one flying again for a heritage role much like the Vulcan, right now we need support from the public in huge numbers! Feel free to check out this channel which has over 140 video's of Concorde, "Like" the "Get Concorde Flying Again Page" on Facebook, Follow "Concorde_GCFA" on twitter and visit the Save Concorde Group website. Thank You!

Only 1 accident and it was due to debris on the runway.

Concorde has an excellent safety record in comparison with almost every other passenger aircraft. 113 people is not 'hundreds'...

There aren't any. The thing that let Concrode down was it's engines, masterpeices of their era but ultimately guzzled too much fuel (via the afterburners) at a time when oil prices were high which forced ticket prices through the roof for a profit orientated business model. France and Britain had to sell tickets below cost just to fill the planes throughout its life. If those engines could supercruise at Mach 2 the seats would've been a lot cheaper and it could've been a profitable ventrure. Now that jet engines can supercruise (fly above Mach 1 without afterburners) an economically viable supersonic cruiser could be a possibility if one of the airlines and manufacturers partnered up and took the chance.

+legioner9 Please cite an example of a commercially viable supersonic passenger aircraft development in the last 30 years?

It is a shame they haven't come out with a replacement aircraft.

My one big dream as a child was to take one ride on the Concorde... my uncle used to take it to the UK and praised it highly, saying it was the only plane he ever rode on that had none to extremely minimal turbulence. Now, unfortunately, looking back I realize that my dream of such a magnificent flight is never going to happen now that Concorde is no longer in existence with the exception of being a museum piece. Shame.
