Folk band Seize the Day entertain protesters outside Newport county court on the Isle of Wight as Danish multinational Vestas fails to win an eviction order against workers occupying the company's wind turbine factory.

LYRICS
Come and get a job in renewable energy
Get a mortgage, start family
The future's in green technology
Skilled work - lifetime guarantee

The pay is good but the hours are long
But you can't complain if you haven't got a union
Breathin's hard in the factory floor
_

CHORUS -
Wind mill turn it on
Boys on the balcony standing strong
Wind power, wave and sun
This is a fight that must be won

Wind mill turn it on
The boys on the balcony standing strong
For work in a world where the turbines spin
This is a battle we all must win
_

Blade running profits on the Solent water
Seventy six million - first quarter
Three months later Vestas say
S'lot more profit in the USA

Wind energy, clean and abundant
Windmill workers, redundant
Sold down the river by the Vestas management
No bail out coming from the government

CHORUS

Not much hope kickin round this place
When every job's got 100 chasin
Before the close our factory down
We're gonna fight back in Newport town

Miliband shrugs 'what can I do?'
- You can come here and support us too!
We may not win but we sure can try
Learn from Visteon and... occupy!

CHORUS

Grassed up by a guilty man
Weir got wind of the workers' plan
So the ones who could clock in that night
Heads down low 'til the morning light

Two teams went in and bolted the door
Made their base on the first floor
Told the world and made their stand
Bigging up the fight of the working man

CHORUS

Skilled workers standing idle
Rich play poker with Earth's survival
Nimbies blocking any turbine turning
Ministers fiddle while the climate's burning

Vestas we've got news for you
This is our families future too
It's our power - nationalise it
Better let the workers organise it!
