Here's a short video of my modified Stihl MS660 vs. one of my Dolmar 7900's with stock 85cc Big Bore kit. This kit hasn't even seen a tank of fuel through it yet so nowhere near run in. It is also tuned a bit rich during run in.
Both saws running 84DL Stihl RSC Full Chisel chain (24" although Stihl will tell you it's a 25" bar!).
The MS660 has been ported, has a pop up piston and cylinder machining to increase compression, a dual port modified muffler, plus a high output oiler for longer bars.
The wood is extremely hard Casuarina and as expected the Stihl pumps the Dolmar in timber like this.
Although very few cuts were made both chains had visible damage on the cutter points. Semi chisel chain is far more suitable in dead hardwood like this.
I've disabled comments due to the plethora of internet know alls and heroes who somehow seemed to think that I'd disabled the Dolmar's chain or something to make it look bad. HINT: It wasn't a race but a COMPARISON! I'm actually more of a Dolmar fan than Stihl fan and if anybody thinks that a stock 85.5cc Dolmar big bore kit will beat a ported, machined, and high compression MS660 then there are far more chainsaw retards in the world than I thought there was.
