"Blind Flipping Beds"
Pickup D&M MAGNUM PUNCH SKIRTS at Monster Fishing Tackle http://www.outdoorproshop.com/D-M-Pun...

This is pretty similar to the pattern fished by Brandon Medlock to win the 2012 FLW Everstart on Lake Okeechobee. All these fish were taken from a point extending into the mainlake. The water was slightly muddy and ~2-3' deep with a reasonably hard bottom. Whereas Medlock used his signature jig I went to a punch skirt setup which made it alot easier to flip to little pockets way back in the grass beds. When it came to where to put the bait, I simply looked for holes/gaps in grass, junctures of 2 types of grass, and lonely/isolated clumps - basically areas that, if the water was clean, you'd normally see swept off spots. One of the biggest keys to this deal is slowing down. These fish are eating it on a reaction strike but they're still bedding fish. Letting the bait sit after the initial fall for a just a second and then shaking the bait just briefly seemed to really put them over the edge.
