Matthew 1:18-25 lets us know that not one drop of sinful, human blood passed into the veins of Christ in the womb. "...Behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost. (20) And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins. -- (Matthew 1:20-21)
"Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, (22) Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us. -- (Matthew 1:22-23) Approximately 300 prophecies were fulfilled by Christ in the events of His birth, life, death, and Resurrection.
Though Mary was blessed "among women" to be a participant in our Savior's birth; she was a human being, and a sinner who had to offer the required sacrifice. Leviticus 12:6-7 makes this very clear. "And when the days of her purifying are fulfilled, for a son, or for a daughter, she shall bring a lamb of the first year for a burnt offering, and a young pigeon, or a turtledove, FOR A SIN OFFERING, unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, unto the priest: (6) Who shall offer it before the LORD, and MAKE AN ATONEMENT FOR HER; and she shall be cleansed from the issue of her blood. This is the law for her that hath born a male or a female." (Cross reference Leviticus 12:6-8 with Luke 2:23,24. "(As it is written in the law of the Lord, Every male that openeth the womb shall be called holy to the Lord;) (23) And to offer a sacrifice according to that which is said in the law of the Lord, A pair of turtledoves, or two young pigeons."
Mary and Joseph offered turtledoves as a sacrifice, which were an evidence of their poverty. The sacrifice was for Mary and not for the Child. The only sacrifice that Christ ever made was to sacrifice Himself on Calvary as the Perfect "Lamb of God that taketh away the sin of the world." (John 1:29)
Therefore, he was "God with us." And went to the Cross for us. "For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him." -- (2 Corinthians 5:21) I pray that you will believe that Christ died on the Cross to pay for your sins and will accept the gift of Eternal Life today! There is nothing more we can add or do. When Christ said, "It is finished!" Salvation was done! And...that is the Gospel truth!
