On October 12, 2013, colleagues, family and friends of Kenneth N. Waltz (1924-2013), arguably the preeminent theorist of international relations of the postwar period, gathered to remember the late scholar of international relations. They shared stories of how Ken affected their lives, and also the lives of countless others through his rigorous scholarship. This is Part 1 of the memorial; Part 2 begins with a video interview of Professor Waltz, taped at the University of California Berkeley in 2003, along with personal photos, and then continues with the second half of the memorial.
