Backwards Skating Basics continues with Candice Heiden

1. Master Backwards Marching and Backwards Scissors as shown in previous lessons

2. Practice Backwards Pushes on an edge, pushing with only one skate and returning it to the Basic Backwards Position

3. To Begin Backwards Crosspulls: Start in Basic Backward Position with TOES turned IN and HEELS pointed OUT, scissor feet apart

4. When scissoring feet back together, Cross the HEEL in front of the TOE

5. Once feet are crossed pick up the crossed foot and return it to the Basic Backwards Position to restart.

6. Backwards Cross Pulls should always be done on an edge so be sure to LEAN towards the direction of travel throughout the entire process.

** As with all roller skating moves: Keep good posture with your back straight, knees bent and head up.
