Fetchin's Bones was one of the most popular alternative bands of the late 1980s. Its lead singer, Hope Nicholls, was a friend of Nelson's from the past. While Nelson was attending Davidson College, Hope was nine years old and publishing her own series of books: The Gross Book series whose titles include "Ted's 10-Foot Tongue" and "The Hat That Fell on Davidson". Nelson was best friends with Hope's sister Gail. Nelson went to video the band whenever Fetchin' Bones was performing in New York. This time was at CBGBs.
