A poem I wrote to highlight the difference between Jesus and false religion. In the scriptures Jesus received the most opposition from the most religious people of his day. At it's core Jesus' gospel and the good news of the Cross is in pure opposition to self-righteousness/self-justification. Religion is man centered, Jesus is God-centered. This poem highlights my journey to discover this truth. Religion either ends in pride or despair. Pride because you make a list and can do it and act better than everyone, or despair because you can't do your own list of rules and feel "not good enough" for God. With Jesus though you have humble confident joy because He represents you, you don't represent yourself and His sacrifice is perfect putting us in perfect standing with God the Father.

As a follower of Christ, we must remember that Jesus died for our sins, not religion.

Many are called but few are chosen. The truth is a narrow path and there are few that find it. When someone asked Jesus what religion he should be, Jesus simply said, take care of the widows and the orphans. He called us to Love. It was the religious leaders who arrested and murdered Jesus. If you judge single Mothers in a crisis pregnancy, you judge Mary who was pregnant out of wedlock. Having Jesus was a CRIME in her culture. If you judge poverty and homelessness, you judge Jesus. He was a homeless wanderer who never owned anything but a cross and even that was for us! If you say you stand for life but cave in to the pro choice argument. He wants you to know He entered the world as the least of us (which is a preborn baby scheduled for abortion) His purpose in life was to be murdered for our sin, just like they are! He also left the world like they do...innocent yet brutally tortured. Don't let occultic religion sugar coat His story. He was a man of many sorrows and chose to suffer with us
Cool

Yeah I wonder why pastors who's lively hood depends on butts in the seats would continue to push such a message..... lets see.... what could possibly be motivating this "divine message".

you have said The TRUTH bruh... for what men considers religión is not what GOD considers it. in The BOOK OF James The BIBLE says TRUE religión is to visit The widows and orphans and to take care of them. and to keep one unspoted from The World.. i feel you completley on what you shared... i LOVE JESUS but am not in favor of religión..

Uhh... couldn't every religion say "it's not a religion, it's a relationship with [insert prophet of that religion]" ?

However this man is saying that you shouldn't change your lifestyle because of rules and laws, but because you love Jesus. He's saying that perhaps it's more important to God that we truly devote our lives to Him and let His Holy Spirit dwell, move and burn so mightily within us. That's what will change us. It's one thing if you practise religious ways of life but it's another if pleasing God and loving others actually satisfies you and makes you happy.

ok.... not sure of your point

So, we have figured out why you hate religion. But why do you believe in the Bible? Why do you believe that it is God's word?
