In this 1966 performance, the Janáček Quartet (Jiří Trávníček (violin), Adolf Sýkora (violin), Jiří Kratochvíl (viola), and Karel Krafka (cello)) perform the string quartet No. 1, composed in 1923 by Leoš Janáček (1854-1928) . I created this video from the LP that is shown above, issued in 1966 on the Supraphon label. The jacket design is I believe intended to celebrate the Grand Prix du Disque bestowed upon this particular recording of the first and second string quartets. All images used to create this video were taken from the LP label and jacket, front and reverse.

1. Adagio; con moto
2. Con moto (4:45)
3. Con moto; Vivace; Andante (8:55)
4. Con moto; Adagio (12:49)
