This video demonstrates that power line communication (PLC) systems turn power lines into transmitting antennas.
The video is produced by the FCC Laboratory, while investigating a BPL/PLC system in Briarcliff Manor, NY (USA).
They use a shortwave radio receiver, which picks the radiation up as static, while driving along the power lines carrying the BPL signal.
