This is as close a replica of a 1898-1901 Locomobile as possible with the same dimensions and body shape and style. The engine was to be a Day-Land and the boiler was to be made by me. That has not happened yet. The second car is a Curved Dash Olds replica made from a kit by Dick Howe of Glendale, California. It has a Locomobile engine and had at one time a R.J. Smith monotube boiler. The Smith boiler was burned out when a wire came loose and it has not run since. There was an attempt to make a computer controlled monotube steam generator in it that was never finished. VW Beetle converted to steam by Pierson of Orland, California. It has a very complex eccentric drive poppet valve train. The original VW cylinders were moved from a flat 4 to a Vee 4 so that the flat crank could be used and it would be self starting.
