The University of Virginia has developed the Engineers PRODUCED in Virginia program to provide a means for students to obtain a four-year UVA engineering degree and remain in their home community while working on that degree.
The U. Va. PRODUCED in Virginia Experience: • Students earn an Associate of Science in Engineering degree (or equivalent) at their participating local community college, such as Virginia Highlands, Southwest Virginia, Mountain Empire, or Wytheville. • Those Virginia Community College System students who earn an overall GPA of 3.4 or higher and satisfy selected additional criteria can apply and will be automatically admitted to the U. Va.'s Engineering School. • Other highly qualified graduates of the Associates degree program can apply for regular admission to UVA's Engineering School. • Accepted students can remain in their community while completing the second half of the Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering Science. • While in the PRODUCED program students will have the opportunity to complete two paid engineering internships with a local far SW VA company. • For more information: produced.seas.virginia.edu
