Dr. Melillo is the co-founder of the Brain Balance Program® as well as the author of Disconnected Kids and his newly released follow-up Reconnected Kids. He explains the differences between the left and right sides of the brain and how proper function of each side is important for overall development. He also discusses gene expression and how a gene that should be "turned on" can be "turned off". Perhaps most importantly, he speaks specifically about epigenetics and how it relates to brain development and neuro-behavioral disorders. Watch as he explains how the Brain Balance Program® addresses the misfiring of neurons, or "Functional Disconnection", between and within the hemispheres of the brain that is responsible for a host of behavioral, academic, and social difficulties. Dr. Melillo asserts that by stimulating the weaker side of the brain, you can reduce or eliminate many of the learning and behavioral symptoms of disorders like Autism and ADHD.
