This was my first try at macarons and I was thrilled that they turned out so well! They had feet!!!! These were amazingly good and they will be made again.
2 egg whites, at room temperature 5 tbsp. granulated sugar 1/2 cup. ground almonds 1 cup confectioners (powdered) sugar 1 tsp Earl Grey tea leaves
Notes* This made about 15 -2" diameter macarons, a nice small recipe. Use whatever filling you like, anything goes, nutella, jam, ganache etc. I should have added the dry ingredients in two portions instead of dumping it all in at once. If you want to colour the macarons, add it to the dry ingredients after you mix the sugar and almonds together. I had lots of buttercream left over, so I suggest making twice as many macarons or halving the buttercream recipe.
