John 14:6-7 Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. If you had known Me, you would know My Father as well. From now you do know Him and have seen Him.” ● Jesus is the only way to God and eternal life… but it’s open to everyone. Jesus emphasized that this was true saying... “Truly, truly, I say to you, he who does not enter by the door into the fold of the sheep, but climbs up some other way, he is a thief and a robber (John 10:1). TRUTH IS NOT NEGOTIABLE… IT IS EITHER TRUE OR IT IS A LIE! ● Just as light and darkness cannot occupy the same space… SO two belief systems that contradict each other cannot both be true. I have noticed that many accept God but still seek to know Him on their own terms. In a soulish desire to jump start or enhance their spiritual experience, Many Christians are foolishly adding pagan or new age spiritual techniques to their worship. ●Things that sound so innocent (if not noble) practices like Contemplative prayer, Theophostic Prayer, Inner healing and transcendental meditation. Going so far as blatantly utilizing the practices of other religions in an attempt to commune with God. ● If we add extra biblical practices to our exercise of worship it is a departure from God’s Truth. Adding to the truth… MAKES IT A LIE! ●Though it may excite the body mind & soul it will eventually point to self instead of God. Syncretism is the combining of different, often contradictory beliefs, while blending practices of various schools of thought. Syncretism involves the merger and analogizing of several originally discrete traditions, especially in the theology and mythology of religion, thus asserting an underlying unity and allowing for an inclusive approach to other faiths. COEXIST is the mantra of this age… but we cannot sacrifice truth on the altar of unity. 2 Thessalonians 2:9-11 The coming of the lawless one will be accompanied by the working of Satan, with every kind of power, sign, and false wonder, and with every wicked deception directed against those who are perishing, because they refused the love of the truth that would have saved them. For this reason, God will send them a powerful delusion so that they will believe the lie, ● The Book of Jude warns of this delusion, it is necessary to test everything against the Bible. ● We will not be deceived if we continue to feed on the Word of God and hold fast to the truth… be on guard. 1 John 4:1 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but test the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. As I thought about the onslaught of deception that is creeping into the churches, the Lord brought an obscure phrase to mind. “THERE IS DEATH IN THE POT” I challenge you to read the story this phrase comes from found 2 Kings 4:38-41. Then listen to the video to see what the Lord showed me it means to us today. 2 Kings 4:38-41 (NASB) When Elisha returned to Gilgal, there was a famine in the land. As the sons of the prophets were sitting before him, he said to his servant, “Put on the large pot and boil stew for the sons of the prophets.” Then one went out into the field to gather herbs, and found a wild vine and gathered from it his lap full of wild gourds, and came and sliced them into the pot of stew, for they did not know what they were. So they poured it out for the men to eat. And as they were eating of the stew, they cried out and said, “O man of God, there is death in the pot.” And they were unable to eat. But he said, “Now bring meal.” He threw it into the pot and said, “Pour it out for the people that they may eat.” Then there was no harm in the pot.
