I AM WITH YOU (IO SONO CON TE) it's not film against anyone: it's the story of how love could overcome violence. Any kind of violence: the violence in the name of God, traditional values, ancestors, parents. The movie is a story about motherhood: that of young Jewish girl, Mary of Nazareth, from the conception of her son Jesus through to his adolescence. It portrays a mother and her relation with her son, supported by the discrete, evolving presence of Joseph, the patriarch who accepts to "step aside", foregoing the dominant male role. The questions raised by the film address topics such as birth, growth and the upbringing of children, all from a uniquely female point of view. The story has a universal appeal, relating to fundamental moments and deep-rooted expectations that accompany the life of every child. This is what makes the film appealing both to believers and non-believers. Produced by Colorado, Magda, Rai Cinema, Italy 2010. Shot in Tunisia, in Tunisian Arab with English subtitles
