This catchy R&B song was first recorded by Arthur Alexander in 1962 as the B-side of You Better Move On. Written by Terry Thompson in the US south. It was not a hit or well known, but musicians picked it up and liked it. I don't know that it has ever been a hit for anyone, but to me it is.

Selections:
1) Arthur Alexander 1962
2) Chad Allen and the Expressions - 1964. of Winnipeg Canada, after changing their name from CA + The Reflections, and before becoming The Guess Who.
3) Clyde McPhatter - 1966 Amy label single. a potential hit if circumstances had been right.

The Guess Who song is on the Shakin All Over album.
Clyde's Amy recordings were recently reissued.
