Vladimir Putin has to endure an off-key rendition of the Russian national anthem on a visit to Egypt

Having spent 16 years at the top level of Russian politics, Vladimir Putin has heard his country's national anthem countless times.
But, it must be said, he is unlikely to have heard a rendition quite like the one played upon his arrival in Egypt on Tuesday.
President Putin was given a 21-gun salute as he was driven through the driveway of the presidential palace in Cairo, where he was greeted by his Egyptian counterpart Abdel-Fattah el-Sissi.
Children cheered and waved the Russian flag. So far, so good.
