Obscurea® Road is designed for extreme weather conditions, and has been certified to provide, an enabling 35% more structural integrity and thermal stability, by attaching to the polymer chain of the bitumen which in turn is stabilized to thermal fluctuations by 17.5%.
This enables the use of harder lower grades of bitumen, normally not suitable due to their susceptibility to thermal fluctuations.
Obscurea® Road, increases the bonded elasticity of the Asphalt mix, with a natural water resistant resin which in combination with Obscurea®, increases in viscosity in higher climatic temperatures.
Which, is an inherent thermodynamic function, carried over at low temperature extremes, to enable greater surface stability.
Obscurea® Road modified bitumen Asphalt Concrete capable, for use in Highway applications with in excess of over 2500 heavy trucks per day, during a 12 years theoretical designed service life.
Equating to an Equivalent Single Axle Load equal to 17.5 million tons of force over a designed 12-year service life.
Approved Obscurea Road modified bitumen Asphalt Concrete, encompasses resistance to climate in particular water and air whilst absorbing and converting from positive to negative heat energy, 94% Ultra Violet radiation and 96% Infrared radiation.,
Thereby reducing the chemical catalytic oxidation process of all bitumen Asphalt Concrete.
Based on these specifications, a CE mark was released for the Asphalt Concrete mixture, with the Obscurea® Road material additive.
