Gallerist Danielle Horn from Nettie Horn gallery in London discusses the incredible photography of Bjorn Veno. Veno creates self-portraits captured within expansive and ominous Scandinavian landscapes. They appear at first to echo the solitary and painterly visual trappings of Kaspar David Freidrich—yet upon further inspection, reveal a subtle sense of humor. The artist created this series in order to re-create games he played as a child: intimating notions of play, imagination, loss and the shifting perspectives that come with adulthood.
