How did two women living in unimaginable squalor and total isolation become legendary icons? Captured in the 1975 Albert Maysles cult film "Grey Gardens," Edith Beale and her daughter Edie--aunt and cousin to Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis--were revealed to be an eccentric and often humorous mother-daughter duo. Producer Kelly Gonda's unique documentary looks at how their lives set the stage for the Maysles film and later the Broadway musical, both of which have impacted the art, entertainment and fashion communities.
