After the demise of the Easybeats in 1969, Stevie Wright embarked on a successful solo career. In 1974 he released the epic "Evie", an 11-minute 3-part classic, which to this day remains the longest song ever to reach #1 on any chart in the world.

The Easybeats split was primarily attributed to Dutch-born Harry Vanda's increased songwriting, which had replaced Wright's. Ironically, "Evie", which became Wright's signature song, was written by Vanda & Young.

Recorded live at the 1979 Sydney Rocktober concert, this is parts 1 & 2 of the song. Since YouTube's time limit prevented the whole thing, part 3 has been uploaded separately.
