Sun God is an unlikely collaboration of artists active in the early 1990s electro-industrial scene - Rodney Orpheus of Cassandra Complex, Marcus Giltjes of Pink Turns Blue and Patricia Nigiani of Project Pitchfork. The trio joined forces in 1995 to produce a one-off self-titled album that could very well be the best in each of their respective careers. Intense and eerily atmospheric, Sun God's self-titled album is a little gem of hypnotic techno passages and 'treated' ritual music and thus surely one of the finest surprises of otherwise dull and forgettable 1995.
The album is conceptualized around Haitian Vodoun and Santería traditions and their pantheons of Gods and Loa spirits. What more could one ask for ?
