46115 Scots Guardsman is seen at Wennington with the Lune Rivers Trust Tour on Saturday 5th September 2009.
The tour started from Preston, diesel hauled by 47 760 as far as Carnforth, where 46115 took over. The route: Preston - Lancaster - Carnforth - Wennington - Bentham - Settle - Hellifield - Skipton - Keighley - Shipley - Church Fenton - Colton Junction - York - Malton - Scarborough and return.
I had positioned myself behind the platform fencing and was skulking in the bushes, (well, old habits die hard), when I was singled out for conversation by a chap who told me he was from Kent - (I'd never have guessed!). He proceeded to yak about all and sundry which has resulted in some fairly drastic editing to remove his chatter. When he finally decides it's time to board the train we see our erstwhile Del boy strolling down the platform holding what appears to be his new line in mock-turtle hand luggage - very nice.
I then moved to the end of the platform for a line-level view of the departure for Bentham.
A lady stood near me had just waved off her husband with several sweet-nothings, then turned to her friend and told her what she really thought of him at 3:05. Hope he doesn't watch this.
