Sindhupalchok district which covers 2,542 square kilometres is linked with the capital city of Nepal, Kathmandu. which exits at the height of 890 to 6,966 meter from the sea level. The district has been connected with Dolkha and Ramechhap districts as well as autonomous region of China,Tibet in the east; Nuwakot and Rasuwa districts in the west; Rasuwa district and autonomous region of China Tibet in the north and Kavrepalanchok, Kathmandu and Ramechhap districts in the south. Politically and administratively it has been divided into 3 areas, 13 territories and 1 municipality 75 Village Development Committees. It lies in the Central Division of Nepal as per the administrative division and its head quarter is called Chautara. The different castes of people like Tamang, Sherpa, Hyolmo, Brahmin, Chhetri, Newar, Gurung, Thami and Dalit follow the religions such as Hinduism, Buddhism, Christianity, Jainism and Islam in this district. The total population of the district is 3, 15,902 in which 29.5% people are literate and 34% are the marginalized people.
