Sunny, at the front of the classroom, explains the task, in Chinese, to the students. He used Chinese because the vast majority of the students in the class couldn't comprehend my spoken and written word. As a last resort, Sunny delivered the message in Chinese. Some students benefited from the translation. However, as the movie suggests, some students didn't benefit from the change in the medium of instruction - the boys in the back gather around each other as one student has successfully managed to write foul language, in English, on his calculator.
