Cedar Point offers a great "primitive experience" for fishing, boating, hiking and camping in the Texas Hill Country. It includes 3 miles along the shoreline of Lake Buchanan. If you like to "rough it" and don't need or want electricity, tables, running water or water-flush restrooms, Cedar Point Resource Area is designed is for you! The area is part of the Lower Colorado River Authority's Primitive Recreation System. Open year-round and free-of-charge, there are no designated campsites and no designated swimming areas. Overnight camping is available on a first-come, first-served basis. There are access roads, parking areas, and a boat ramp. No reservations are required. All groups over 20 required a Land Use Permit; call 800-LCRA, Ext 3366 for details.
